He is an accomplished mountain climber.
He was one of the first to summit Ship Rock
New Mexico, a class 6 rock climb. Since 1980
he mountain (not rock) climbs major moun-
tains such McKinley in Alaska, Mt. Blanc in
Europe, the Tetons, Whitney (mountaineers
Mt. Blanc
route), and most recently Kilimanjaro, Africa
(see photographs). He is also an expert skier.
